Photos from lunch con’t.
Sushi for lunch with aunt Amy and Linda.
There were so many different things to choose from the menu that I had a hard time deciding what I wanted to eat. Most of the things I ate today were new to me and of course, quite delicious. The quality of the seafood here is much higher than in Toronto because the ocean is so near. Therefore things don’t need to be iced and shipped overseas before consumption. The salmon was much fattier and richer, the hokkigai clams were bigger, and the shrimp was sweeter.
If I had to pick a favourite I think it would be salmon and mango wrapped in cucumber sushi. The sweet mango and cool cucumber balanced out the richness of the salmon and didn’t need any wasabi or soy sauce. The addition of the black caviar on top added a nice salty “pop” in my mouth.
