Cafe Lumiere.

This is the event that I had to plan for school with a group of 9 other people. I can’t remember if I uploaded pictures on tumblr or not but hey, if I didn’t at least I can do it again!

Finalized(?) Drink Menu

As a special events management student, part of our course work involves actually planning events. The event that my group and I organized is called “Cafe Lumiere” and takes place tomorrow between 11AM-3PM.

This spontaneous four hour cafe will be set up on my campus and we’ll be selling a variety of beverages and pastries. Aveda salon workers will be present giving out hand massages and an acoustic musician will be performing throughout the day. We’ll also have boardgames and magazines available for those who wish to use them.

I was in charge of developing and running the food and beverage station tomorrow. Unfortunately we were unable to obtain the commercial espresso maker that we have in school so I’ve been practicing on a “made for home use” one for the past couple of days. I’ve also been boiling away to make homemade syrups to flavour the specialty drinks so some burns and mishaps have been had.

I attempted to make the beverage menu simple enough so that I can crank everything out with some sort of efficiency tomorrow.

The proceeds from that event are then donated to George Brown College and used to create bursaries for future students.
