I discovered Zocalo over the summer while wandering along Bloor Street West. The restaurant has a very unassuming chalkboard sign in the front so if you’re looking for the restaurant, keep an eye out for it! Their menu changes based on what ingredients are available each season and specializes in “broken bread” plates.

While I didn’t have one of their broken bread plates for lunch, they are often my go-to choice when I eat here. The plate looks like a de-constructed sandwich and comes with a variety of components. They also offer vegetarian and gluten free options as well which is something I love! Please note that if you do have any nut allergies like I do, they do have dishes that contain walnuts, sunflower seeds, etc.

Brunch at @WhippoorwillTO. Their smoked salmon is delicious!

Hmm dug through my brunch posts and I came across this which I made a year ago. I need to do this again once I move into the new place and have an oven!

Weekend Round Up:
Saturday - Brunch with Dan Teagle at Easy Restaurant in Roncesvalles. He had the Belgian waffles (also note the awesome Game of Thrones shirt!) and I had an egg white omelette with chevre and roasted red peppers. I saw others in the restaurant having milkshakes so when I move to Roncesvalles in March I plan on coming back here to have one of them. The milkshakes looked so good!

Sunday - Brunch at Bloordale Pantry with Scott. I had their delicious pulled pork huevos which I highly recommend! If you’re in the Landsdowne and Bloor area on a weekend, I’d check out this restaurant as it has become my weekly brunch tradition. Not to mention the fact that their serving staff are extremely friendly and listened to 90’s music near closing this past Sunday.

Breakfast beer and breakfast.

Brunch!

Lourdes baked some chocolate brioche earlier this week so we could use it for brunch this morning. Honestly, this is the most decadent brunch that I have ever made.

We had extra batter so we french toasted a cookie! Sooooooo good.

@Ebonheart requested that I make a healthy brunch so I decided to comply! This is just toast topped with sauteed spinach, mushrooms, and poached eggs.
