Today: - Walked around West Edmonton Mall some more - Went to Hawrelak Park and threw around a Frisbee for a while with a bunch of boys - Ended up at an Internet Cafe and played Starcraft 2 custom games for 2 hours (Nexus Wars is still my favourite!)
Rob Ford on the city's funding of the Lesbian Gay Bi Trans Youth Line: "I don't understand a transgender. I don't understand. Is it a guy that dresses up like a girl or a girl that dresses up like a guy? And we're funding this?... We're funding this for, what does it say here, we're giving them $3, 210?"
Today was Chris’ birthday, a friend of Jacky’s who I have not met before so I was able to meet a handful of his friends at once. We couldn’t really go out to celebrate Chris’ birthday since he had work at 6AM tomorrow morning so plans have been postponed until Saturday.
Instead we decided to go and try to watch the Perseid Meteor Shower which took place tonight. Apparently they went to Elk Island National Park (not actually an island) last year to watch it and there were tons of people there with bonfires and guitars. So, that is where we went tonight.
Unfortunately it was raining and rather cloudy so once we arrived at the park it was a bit of a let down to not be able to see the meteors. However they suggested that we go to the other side of the park to try and see some buffalo.
Since it was raining, we ended up only seeing one buffalo and a fox. But I still had a good time since I’ve never really done anything of the sort in Toronto. I think the closest thing we have in Ontario that could compare would be African Lion Safari. It helps that everyone here drives. I really need to get my license when I come back home.
